Our founder Hanna Lisa lives, loves and knits in Berlin. A business consultant by trade, she decided to forego all conventional notions of success and career after a few years working in a big consulting firm and a small online marketplace company and set out to find what really, truly would make her happy when it came to her work.
Turns out she loves working both with her hands and her brain which led to what she's doing today: She runs Hanna Lisa Haferkamp Bags as well as a successful coaching practice for creative business owners and she co-founded and co-runs Making Stories GmbH, an independent knitwear design publishing company.
Her absolute favorite thing to knit are sweaters, closely followed by socks, and the first thing she looks for when planning a trip are where the yarn shops are. She lives in Berlin with her partner David and you might just catch her dancing to "Born This Way" in one of her dance videos on Instagram Stories.
Hanna Lisa is joined by two wonderful freelance sewists:
Christiane is one of our freelance sewists. She lives in Berlin and while sewing is her first love, she turns to knitting for relaxation. She is student of a Masters programme in the Humanities and parents a toddler.
Once a month she runs 'care & repair' workshops in her studio in Berlin-Oberschöneweide, where people can mend their worn-out garments or holey woolens. You can visit her blog cutikula.com or instagram @cutikula if you want to know more.
Grace Quin is a designer and maker based in Berlin. After studying and working in costume in London, she moved to Berlin to explore a new way of living.
Since then she has created her own label of unique, upcycled clothing and has collaborated as a maker with other inspiring designers, artists and companies. Her focus is finding compassionate ways to create beautiful and useful products, and to celebrate the value of craftsmanship.
