Rettungs-Haus Shepherds
June 2018- Kenosha, WI
If you've never heard of a bailey chair, you're not alone. They're custom built chairs designed specifically for dogs with megaesophagus, a condition that makes it difficult or impossible for a dog to keep food down without the help of gravity. The chair holds the dog upright at the right angle during and after meals so the food can travel down properly. For the dogs that need them, a bailey chair isn't a piece of furniture. It's a lifeline.
Rettungs-Haus Shepherds in Kenosha does the kind of work that doesn't always get the spotlight it deserves. Taking in German Shepherds, caring for them, advocating for them, and going the extra mile for the ones with extra needs. When they had a few bailey chairs crafted for the rescue, they wanted something on them that matched the heart behind the organization. Something that made these chairs feel like they belonged to something special.
Donating my time to something like this is exactly the kind of work that keeps me grounded. It's not about exposure or adding something to a portfolio. It's about showing up for people, and in this case, for dogs, who are doing something genuinely good in the world.
To the team at Rettungs-Haus Shepherds, thank you for what you do every single day. Those shepherds are in the right hands.
