Moe Moe’s Fresh Market

Kenosha will surprise you if you slow down long enough to let it. The lake sits just a few blocks from Moe Moe's Fresh Market, that open stretch of water that shifts color depending on the hour. But in the middle of a busy day, errands running, traffic moving, it's easy to walk right past all of it without actually seeing any of it.
That's what this mural is about.
The owners agreed to more color on the block and the location sold itself before I even picked up a brush. Busy street, steady foot traffic, a neighborhood that deserved something worth stopping for.
The subject is a bird. Colorful, vivid, the kind of detail that rewards a second look. Not because birds are rare in Kenosha, but because we stop noticing them. We stop noticing a lot of things when the day gets loud enough. The mural is a quiet interruption. It sits on the side of that building and says: slow down, look around, there's something worth seeing right here.
That's what good public art does. It doesn't lecture anybody. It just shows up on a wall and changes the quality of attention for everyone who walks past.
Thank you to the owners of Moe Moe's for opening up that wall and trusting the vision. The neighborhood has more color now. And the lake isn't the only reason to appreciate what's around you on that block.
